Carmen joined Riley, Hewitt, Witte & Romano, P.C. in May 2003, and became a Partner with the firm in January, 2013. Carmen's work with Riley, Hewitt, Witte & Romano, P.C. principally involves asbestos defense focused on friction products. He is responsible for investigative support and assists in case management across the Country.  Carmen has been active in moot court competitions, has performed pro bono work, and is a member of various local and national Bar Associations.  He has served on a Board of Directors relative to a local women’s shelter, and otherwise is involved in various other charitable organizations.

 

Before joining Riley, Hewitt, Witte & Romano, P.C. Carmen initially worked as a solo practitioner in general practice and a variety of fields, including plaintiff's lawsuits, contract law, family law, municipality law, and workers' compensation.  In 1997, Carmen joined a defense firm concentrating in general liability defense, and civil rights and discrimination lawsuits in both Pennsylvania federal and state courts.

 

In 1999, Carmen began concentrating on asbestos defense work and assumed lead defense responsibility on numerous cases in Pennsylvania. He has represented numerous clients for various types of products relative to vehicle & automotive parts, steel manufacturing, plumbing, power plants, and construction companies.

 

 

Carmen's education, prior to beginning his legal career, included obtaining his BA and MA degrees in English Literature. He was an Instructor at both Duquesne University and the Community College of Beaver County before obtaining his Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University in 1991, just as his father, Anthony J. Martucci, had in 1948.
