PATRICK A. HEWITT

In 1994, Mr. Hewitt left Riley & DeFalice to form the law firm of Riley, McNulty & Hewitt, P.C. (now Riley, Hewitt, Witte & Romano, P.C.). Based upon his courtroom successes as lead trial counsel, Mr. Hewitt was asked by several companies to assist them in the management of their mass tort litigation.

He presently serves as national coordinating counsel for several national and international companies for whom he handles all mass tort litigation, as well as other commercial litigation matters. His responsibilities in this capacity include devising and implementing trial strategies-- including all pretrial discovery and motions, depositions, disposition of cases by trial or settlement, and any post-trial motion practice. Mr. Hewitt is also responsible for the selection and oversight of local counsel throughout the United States. Mr. Hewitt also represents several domestic and international concerns in their complex commercial litigation.

Other representative cases include: medical device litigation involving insulin pumps, medical device litigation involving hip replacement joints/femoral heads, insurance coverage litigation, personal injury litigation resulting from the use of playground equipment, personal injury litigation related to industrial equipment, and an automobile accident death case.

Mr. Hewitt also handles appellate matters for the firm's major clients and has argued cases before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, and the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Hewitt serves as a Director and President of Valley Brook Country Club. For the past five years, he has served on the board of directors of various charitable community organizations. Mr. Hewitt resides in Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania with his wife and two daughters.
